Yes. Only solar systems installed by a CEC Accredited installer are eligible for Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) – the federal government rebate that reduces your upfront solar cost. Main Switch Electrical is fully CEC Accredited. Every residential and commercial solar installation we complete is eligible for the STC rebate scheme, and we handle all the rebate documentation on your behalf.

Yes. In most cases solar battery storage can be retrofitted to an existing system, subject to inverter compatibility. We assess your current setup, your household or business consumption data, and your grid tariff structure before recommending the correct battery capacity for your situation. Where your existing inverter is not compatible with AC-coupled battery storage, we advise on your options clearly before any work is proposed.
Most residential solar installations are completed in a single day. Larger commercial, industrial, or battery-inclusive installations may take two to three days depending on system size and site conditions. We provide a specific timeline when we issue your fixed-price quote. Any variation to that timeline is communicated to you in advance.
Yes. Our maintenance and support service is available for solar systems regardless of who installed them. We carry out visual inspections, performance data reviews, and written condition reports. Where faults or degradation are identified, we provide a fixed-price remediation quote before any repair work begins. We are a licensed electrical contractor so we can also respond to urgent system faults including inverter failures and protection trips.
Yes. All electrical work performed by Main Switch Electrical complies with AS/NZS 3000 Australian Wiring Standards and all relevant Victorian electrical safety regulations. A Certificate of Electrical Safety is issued for every job that requires one. Our EV charger installations also comply with the specific circuit, RCD, and mounting requirements for EV charging equipment. We do not take shortcuts on compliance.

If we arrive outside that window without having contacted you in advance to reschedule, we give you $50 cash before the job starts. No paperwork, no conditions.
